Welcome to Almost, Maine, a town that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States—it’s almost in Canada. And it almost doesn’t exist. Because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it’s just… Almost.

One cold, clear Friday night in the middle of winter, while the northern lights hover in the sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in the strangest ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. Love is lost, found, and confounded. And life for the people of Almost, Maine will never be the same.

ALMOST, MAINE: It’s love. But not quite.

Each scene consists of at least two main characters, and, aside from the Prologue, Interlogue, and Epilogue, none of the characters onstage repeat (though some are mentioned tangentially in later scenes).

There are 19 roles in the play. It was written to be performed by four actors doubling the various roles. The number of actors cast and how many roles each will play will be decided following auditions.

Rehearsal and Rehearsal Season

Rehearsals will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5.45pm – 9.00pm, and Sundays from 4.00-8.00pm. Rehearsals will begin on Sunday, April 17 at 1.00pm (Day 1 is scheduled to be a full day to allow for introductions, general admin and kickoff).
